Huge dreams are great, and you should have them — but don’t discount those small everyday acts of compassion when no one is looking. Those brief moments of kindness you can hardly remember are not always so flashy and romantic, but they end up weaving a greater tapestry in the end. They can build bridges. They can heal the wounded. They can save a life. Stay faithful in the small things.
You work so hard, just to end up at home crying yourself to sleep; remember you’re trying, you are moving mountains that have plagued you since you were young, and you’re trying so hard.
Keep fighting, fight until you have won. Fight until you have found your way home, until the sun comes back and your heart learns to love the mornings again.
Today is World Suicide Prevention Day.
Let’s be the hopeful. Let’s reach out with compassion and sincerity. Let’s remember those we have lost, but see and help those who need us now. We need each other. We are not alone in this. We will be the hopeful.
No one else can play your part.
It’s dark because you are trying too hard. Lightly child, lightly. Learn to do everything lightly. Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply. Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them. I was so preposterously serious in those days…Lightly, lightly—it’s the best advice ever given me. So throw away your baggage and go forward. There are quicksands all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair. That’s why you must walk so lightly. Lightly, my darling.
Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing
